With their larger masses, higher structures, and up-armoring, modern military tactical wheeled vehicles have a higher center of gravities (CG). Combined with the required evasive driving and off-road conditions, there are more rollovers.

Survivability is maximized through (i) proper ABTS seat design that couples the occupant to the seat and (ii) proper restraint design and geometry that ensures Soldiers can release belts in all conditions- even when inverted. Proper testing includes rollovers and inverted seat drops.
